
TCU Earns No. 6 Seed at Nationals

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU equestrian has earned the No. 6 seed in the team bracket at the NCEA National Championship, which takes place April 18-21 at Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
The Frogs will open play in the eight-team bracket on Thursday, April 19, when they take on No. 3 Oklahoma State in the quarterfinals. The winner will face either No. 2 Auburn or No. 7 Baylor in the semifinals later that day. The team championship match is scheduled for Saturday, April 21.
TCU has advanced to the semifinals in each of the last two NCEA National Championships, at the time 12-team tournaments, including a national runner-up finish two years ago.
In addition to the team event this year, the newly expanded NCEA National Championship format will include a team-seeded bracket not to exceed 16 teams in an NCEA format competition for the four events. Event rankings are determined by statistics (Win/Loss; Home/Away; Current Rank of Opponent) of regular season head-to-head competition.
TCU will participate in all four disciplines with the Horsemanship squad earning TCU's highest seed at No. 5. TCU is seeded No. 7 in both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat. The Frogs are No. 8 in Reining.
Event first-round matches are scheduled for Wednesday, April 18. Quarterfinals and semifinals will be played on Friday, April 20, and each event final will be played on Saturday, April 21.
