
TCU Underway at Big 12 Championship

TULSA, Okla. – Junior Turner MacLean's round of 1-under 69 led the TCU men's golf team on day one of the Big 12 Championship Monday at Southern Hills Country Club.
With four birdies on the final nine of 36 holes Monday, MacLean jumped up 16 spots to finish tied for 14th place. Junior Stefano Mazzoli also finished tied for 14th at 5-over 145. Mazzoli was tied for second after 18 holes after shooting 1-over 71 in the first round.
The challenging course and a steady 10-15 MPH wind made for high scores all day. The leader of the tournament, No. 6-ranked Viktor Hovland of No. 1 Oklahoma State, is only 1-under par.
Junior David Ravetto had an eight-stroke improvement from the first round to the second after shooting even par 70. He is tied for 31st at 8-over 148.
The Horned Frogs are in eighth place at 28-over 588. Iowa State leads the tournament at 9-over 569. TCU will be paired with seventh-place Kansas when play resumes Tuesday. The two will tee-off at 9:07 a.m. on hole No. 10. The fourth and final round will be played Wednesday.
