TCU Falters at No. 17 Texas Tech

FORT WORTH, Texas - A tough match on the road went against the TCU women's tennis team as No. 17 Texas Tech topped the Horned Frogs, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock, Texas.
The Red Raiders (13-4, 2-1 Big 12) got the early lead over the Frogs (9-9, 0-3 Big 12) by securing the doubles point. TCU went toe-to-toe at the top spot in doubles against the No. 8 ranked Texas Tech pair, but the Red Raiders held too much of a lead on the final courts to get the doubles point.
In singles, Texas Tech was able to grab the first set on five of the six courts as they never looked back and swept courts one, four and five on the way to a 4-0 victory.

"Texas Tech was too good today. Playing here in Lubbock is tough enough when we have a full squad and playing without Aleksa (Cveticanin) made it all the more difficult as we were just outmatched on the majority of courts. Donika (Bashota) and Marie's (Norris) matches could have gone either way and I was proud of the way they competed. We have Texas and Baylor at home next weekend. We will need a serious raise of level in order to have a chance."
