DALLAS – The sixth-ranked TCU equestrian team will take to the road to end the fall season as it competes against cross-town rival SMU Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the Dallas Equestrian Center.
Last Time Out
The Frogs mounted a late comeback to topple No. 8 Oklahoma State, 11-9. The Frogs swept the Most Outstanding Performer slate with Elizabeth McKim taking home the accolade in Equitation over Fences. Jacey Albaugh won it in Equitation on the Flat, while Claire Dittrich and Jamie Cook also won MOPs for the second consecutive meet in Reining and Horsemanship, respectively.
Scouting the Mustangs
SMU comes into the meet with a perfect 4-0 record. The Mustangs are coming off a bye week, with a win over Fresno State, 15-5, being their last competition on Oct. 27. The Mustangs have won their four meets by an average of three points.
Scouting the Frogs
TCU has taken 15 of 16 MOPs this season, while also recording the two highest scores of the season in last week's meet. Niki Barnes scored a 92 and Jacey Albaugh scored a 89, both in Equitation on the Flat. Elena Hurd and Janelle Henningsen have both competed in every meet for the Frogs and remain undefeated this season.
All-Time Series
TCU leads the all-time series, 4-3. The Horned Frogs also won the most recent matchup, 14-4, over SMU. The last meet at the Dallas Equestrian Center was won by the Mustangs, 11-8.
