
TCU Equestrian Hosts Oklahoma State in Big 12 Showdown

No. 6 TCU look to bounce back as they host No. 8 Oklahoma State in home Big 12 opener
SPRINGTOWN, Texas – The sixth-ranked TCU equestrian program is back at home and will host the 8th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls in the home Big 12 opener for the Horned Frogs on Friday at 10 a.m.
Last Time Out
The Frogs fell to No. 4 Baylor, 10-8, last Saturday. TCU took four points in Equitation over Fences, with freshman Wynne Weatherly earning the Most Outstanding Performer in that event. Both Jamie Cook (Horsemanship) and Claire Dittrich (Reining) earned their first MOPs of the year.
Scouting the Cowgirls
Oklahoma State comes into the meet with a record of 1-3. The lone win for the Cowgirls was in Big 12 action against Baylor when OSU won 11-9. Oklahoma State is 0-3 on the road this season with losses to No. 1 Auburn (12-7), No. 2 Texas A&M (12-5) and No. 7 Georgia (13-6). In the hunt seat arena, Abigail Brayman won October Rider of the Month in Equitation over Fences. In the western arena, Hannah Mitchell took home the accolade.
Scouting the Frogs
TCU looks to continue their string of exceptionally strong individual performances as the Frogs have captured 11 of the 12 MOPs named this season. Three Frogs remain undefeated in action this year (Natalia DeVencenty, Janelle Henningsen, Elena Hurd), sophomore Janelle Henningsen notched a career best 89 in last week's meet at Baylor. Jacey Albaugh is set to make her collegiate debut in the meet while Misty Redd and Lily Geelan will see their first meet time in an exhibition over Fences and a demo on the flat respectively.
Series History
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series, 8-15. TCU won the most recent matchup, 10-6, in the NCEA team tournament last season. That win broke the streak of 10 consecutive losses at the hands of the Cowgirls.
