TCU stumbled to the Red Raiders on Saturday afternoon.
LUBBOCK, Texas – The TCU volleyball team suffered a tough loss on the road as Texas Tech came away with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-11, 25-23) victory on Saturday afternoon at the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.
The Horned Frogs (12-9, 4-6 Big 12) started the match strong, but a surge by the Red Raiders (16-8, 5-5 Big 12) near the end of the opener let them steal the set, 26-24. Texas Tech took the momentum into the second set and claimed the 25-11 win to go up 2-0, but TCU did not back down from the challenge and battled point-for-point in the third set. Once again, a strong run late let the Red Raiders back into the set as they were able to claim the match in straight sets.
Lexi MacLean led the way on offense with 12 kills with Allye Beth Deaton chipping in eight kills and Anna Walsh finishing with seven kills. Berklie Baker was the anchor from the backrow with 11 digs with Tori Dilfer finishing with seven digs to go along with 26 assists.
