
TCU Drops Match at No. 6 Texas

The Horned Frogs battled for every point but came up short in the four-set loss.
AUSTIN, Texas – The TCU volleyball team never gave up and fought for every point, but ultimately dropped a 3-1 (25-13, 20-25, 25-17, 25-23) decision to No. 6 Texas on Wednesday night inside Gregory Gym in Austin, Texas.
The Longhorns (15-4, 10-1 Big 12) were able to jump out to the early lead with a quick win in the opener, but the Horned Frogs (12-10, 4-7 Big 12) did not back down from the challenge and used a .306 hitting clip along with strong serving and blocking to take the second set and even up the match. The teams continued to battle back-and-forth through the final two sets, but Texas was able to close out each set on strong runs to finish off the match in four.
Anna Walsh led TCU with 13 kills, while Sarah Swanson tied her career-high with 12 kills and also led the team at the net with three blocks. Katie Clark was able to chip in nine kills and two blocks, while Lexi MacLean finished with seven kills and seven digs. Tori Dilfer guided the offense with 39 assists to go along with 11 digs for her eighth double-double of the year. Dani Dennison led the backrow with 12 digs with Berklie Baker chipping in seven digs.
