Frogs Play WVU Sunday Morning
HOCKLEY, Texas. – In the second day of the Big 12 Match Play Tournament, the TCU men's golf team tied top-ranked Oklahoma State and defeated Texas Tech.
The No. 5 seeded Horned Frogs got wins from freshman Alejandro Aguilera (4&3), senior Stefano Mazzoli (3&2) and senior David Ravetto (4&2) to earn a tie with the defending national champions in the morning session.
In the afternoon, seniors Triston Fisher (5&4) and Turner MacLean won their matches against Texas Tech, along with Mazzoli (5&3) and Ravetto (2UP). The Frogs beat the Red Raiders 4-2.
With a record of 1-1-1 over the three matches, TCU has four points, good for third in Pool A.
TCU will play No. 9 seed West Virginia Sunday at 8 a.m. before the championship round in the afternoon. Live scoring of the tournament, held at The Clubs at Houston Oaks, can be found on GolfStat.com.
