
Frogs Finish Fifth in Big 12 Match Play

HOCKLEY, Texas. – TCU won both of its matches on Sunday and finished in fifth place at the inaugural Big 12 Match Play Tournament at The Clubs at Houston Oaks.
The No. 5 seeded Horned Frogs finished with a record of 3-1-1. The tie came against defending national champion and top-ranked Oklahoma State.
TCU rolled over No. 9 seeded West Virginia in the morning session 4-1-1. Alejandro Aguilera (3&1), Triston Fisher (5&4), Pierre Mazier (2&1) and Hayden Springer all won their matches.
After finishing third in Pool A, TCU was paired with No. 10 seeded Kansas State, which finished third in Pool B, for the championship round in the afternoon. The Frogs beat the Wildcats 3-2-1. Mazier won his second match of the day (3&2) and TCU also got wins from Turner MacLean (4&3) and David Ravetto (5&3).
No. 6 seeded Baylor defeated No. 4 Kansas to win the championship, 5-1-0. The complete results of every match can be found on GolfStat.com.
The Horned Frogs will return to competition in a week for the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, Oct. 19-21, in Alpharetta, Ga. It will be their final tournament of the fall season.
