
Mazier Five Back Entering Final Round

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Junior Pierre Mazier shot 5-under 67 and stands in a tie for fourth place at the end of the second round of The Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
A native of France, Mazier had eight birdies on the day, including five on the back nine. At 9-under 135, Mazier is five shots behind the leader, Hurly Long of Texas Tech (-14).
Junior Hayden Springer (Trophy Club) shot 2-under 70 on Saturday and finished the round tied for 12th place overall at 6-under 138. Junior Turner MacLean (Fort Worth) was 2-under 70 on the day and is tied for 15th overall at 4-under 140.
Junior Stefano Mazzoli was the fourth Horned Frog to shoot under par on Saturday. The Italian shot 1-under 71 and will begin the final round on Sunday tied for 26th place at 2-under 142.
Junior Triston Fisher (Southlake, Texas) had three-straight birdies on the back nine to shoot 1-over 73 and stands in a tie for 34th place.
TCU finished the second round in fifth place at 18-under 702. No. 1 Oklahoma State leads the tournament, one of the toughest in the nation, at 32-under 688.
