HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- After four rounds of competing against cool temperatures and high winds in addition to a loaded field, the TCU men's golf team finished eighth Wednesday at the Big 12 Championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club.
It was 42 degrees under cloudy skies when the Horned Frogs teed off, with winds blowing consistently at 20 MPH. The weather warmed up to 50 degrees at the conclusion of the round, but with the wind, low scores were hard to come by. There wasn't one player in the 50-person field that shot under par on Thursday.
"The conditions were brutal this week," said head coach Bill Montigel. "Despite the weather, I feel like our guys had a really good attitude out there on the course. I think we've put ourselves in good enough position to be selected for an NCAA Regional. I don't think we hurt ourselves this week."

The Keene, N.H. native finished 15th and shot 17-over 297 over the four rounds. Barrett was 10 shots back from the conference champion, Chase Hanna of Kansas (7-over 287).
