TCU Closes Play at Big 12 Championship

SAN ANTONIO -- TCU sophomore Annika Clark tied for seventh individually, while the Horned Frogs finished sixth as play concluded Sunday at the Big 12 Women's Golf Championship.
"We wanted to come out today and make a statement," TCU head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "We started a little slow coming out of the box on the front nine. We finished strong on the back nine. We're disappointed in the overall finish, but a lot of good things happened this weekend.
"We're now looking forward to our postseason and an NCAA Regional berth. We have the announcement Thursday at 10 a.m. CDT on the Golf Channel."
Clark, named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team, equaled a career-best finish in posting her fourth top-10 result. The sophomore from the Highlands, Texas, recorded a team-best four birdies Sunday, including three of her final six holes on the front nine. She totaled 12 birdies in the tournament.
TCU's Emmy Martin and Kelly McGovern tied for 12th individually at 224. It was Martin's seventh consecutive top-13 finish and eighth top-20 result on the season. She had one birdie today en route to a 76.
McGovern also posted a 76 and was 1 under over the final 13 holes. She birdied holes 9 and 18.
Brooke McDougald shot par on 14 holes in posting a 78 for the Horned Frogs.
Texas won the team title with an 885, seven strokes ahead of Iowa State. Baylor's Dylan Kim was the individual medalist with a 2-under 214.
With Thursday's NCAA Regional announcement, TCU will look to make its 21st postseason appearance in the last 22 seasons.
