TCU Continues Play at Big 12 Championship

SAN ANTONIO -- Kelly McGovern's 74 led TCU in second-round action Saturday under blustery conditions at the Big 12 Women's Golf Championship.
The Horned Frogs are in fifth place with a 599, just eight strokes behind leader Texas.
"We're disappointed in the end result today, but we played with a lot of grit," TCU head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "We eventually adjusted to the course conditions. They were totally opposite from the first two days playing here.
"I thought we did a great job bouncing back on the back nine and going through our process. Tomorrow, we're going to come out and be determined, relentless and attack the golf course. We won't back down."
McGovern capped her day with a birdie on the 18th hole for her second-straight 74. She had two birdies on the day and joins teammate Emmy Martin in a tie for seventh individually at 148. They are five strokes behind leader Sophia Schubert of Texas with a 143.
Martin shot par on her final six holes en route to a 76.
TCU's Annika Clark, like McGovern, also birdied the 18th hole and is tied for 13th individually at 149.
Tiffany Breitenwischer shot par on 12 holes and had a birdie en route to a 77 for the Horned Frogs. Brooke McDougald recorded par on her final five holes and contributed a birdie.
