The Rundown
Janczak (3-0) gave TCU a strong performance on the mound and the offense pitched in with five runs to help the Horned Frogs take its second straight Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic title. Janczak tossed 7 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out a career-high 10.
TCU opened the scoring in the second inning, picking up three runs. With two on and one out, Cam Warner doubled to right to make it a 1-0 game. A wild pitch brought home another run, before Zach Humphreys dumped a single into center for a 3-0 lead.
The Frogs added another run in the fourth on a two-out solo home run off the bat of Ryan Merrill. Luken Baker's first career triple to open the sixth resulted in the Frogs' final run as he scored on a Josh Watson base knock.
Ole Miss attempted to mount a rally in the eighth as it picked up a trio of runs. The big blast in the inning was a two-run home run by Cobly Bortles that closed the gap to 5-3.
Ryan Burnett got the final out of the frame before turning the ball over to Durbin Feltman in the ninth. The sophomore closer retired all three batters he faced to lock up his third save of the season.
