Baker Wins National 60M Title At 6.45

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Ronnie Baker won the 60-meter dash national title at the 2017 USATF Indoor Championships with the world's sixth-fastest time ever on Sunday night.
Baker blazed to a 6.45 finish in the event, beating Leshon Collins in second place by .09 seconds.
Baker's performance marked the world's sixth-fastest 60-meter dash ever recorded. The Louisville, Ky. native's personal best now ranks behind only Maurice Green (6.39 WR), Andre Cason (6.41), Dwain Chambers (6.42), Tim Harden (6.43) and Asafa Powell (6.44) on the all-time list.
TCU's director of track and field Darryl Anderson also coached Harden during his stint at Kentucky.
At this time in 2016, Baker earned his second-straight NCAA 60 meter title with a time of 6.47. And just like last year, Baker currently holds the fastest time in the world.
Also competing professionally this weekend was former TCU standout Lorraine Ugen at the European Indoor Championships.
Ugen earned silver in the long jump as she set a new British indoor record with a mark of 6.97 meters (22 feet 10.5 inches). Last year, Ugen placed third at the IAAF World Indoor Championships and 11th at The XXXI Olympic Games.
