TCU Falls to OSU in Big 12, 11-8

WACO, Texas -- The Horned Frog equestrian team fell 11-8 to the OSU Cowgirls in the second round of the Big 12 Championship on Saturday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco, Texas.
The Rundown
The Frogs started the meet against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Friday, March 24, completing Horsemanship and Equitation on the Flat.
The Purple and White finished the second round against OSU on Saturday with Equitation over Fences and Reining.
On the Hunt Seat side, the Frogs fell on the Flat with a 3-2 decision; seniors Kari Hancock and Molly Peddicord shined in their rides, earning them their points for the Purple and White. TCU took Equitation over Fences to the tune of 4-1, with Jayme Omand, Molly Peddicord, Carley Barnett and Patty Gill excelling to earn their points for the Frogs.
On the Western side, the Cowgirls swept Horsemanship 4-0, with a tie between freshman Josie Mootz and OSU's Kirsten Chamberland, both earning a 145.5 for their rides. In Reining, OSU dropped a 3-2 decision, with seniors Carley Montemuro and Rylee Morgan making a statement and earning their points. Brooke Boyle was granted a re-ride after her ride on Polly where she and Hannah Mitchell both rode for a second time on Snoop Dog.
Notes
• The seniors went 5-3 on the day, 10-7 overall in the Championship
• Carley Barnett, Molly Peddicord, Kari Hancock and Jayme Omand competed in both Fences and Flat in both meets
• Barnett and Omand went 2-0 on the weekend in Fences
• Hancock and Peddicord went 2-0 on the weekend in Flat
• Senior Rylee Morgan went 2-0 on the weekend in Reining
Next Up
The Frogs will head back to Waco on April 11 for the NCEA Championship, concluding on April 14.
