FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's tennis team is set to host the 2017 ITA Texas Regional Championships Presented by Oracle from Oct. 13-17 at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center here in Fort Worth.
The Horned Frogs will compete against 15 institutions across the state including Abilene Christian, Baylor, Houston, Incarnate Word, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas State, Texas Tech, UNT and UT Arlington. Action on Friday and Saturday will begin at 8 a.m., with start time for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday determined later in the tournament. Admission is free for all fans during the tournament.
A total of 101 singles and 44 doubles entries will battle for qualification to the upcoming inaugural 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championship that will run from Nov. 1-5 in Indian Wells, Calif. Six TCU women's tennis student-athletes will take part in the tournament with two players earning a seed in the singles draw.
