
TCU Ready for Olympic Club

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The TCU men's golf team will continue its fall season at yet another famous course, this time traveling to The Olympic Club for the USF Olympic Invitational.
The Frogs and 13 other teams will begin the 54-hole tournament with two rounds on Monday before closing with a third and final round on Tuesday.

TCU will be in groups with USF and UC Davis for Monday's rounds with a shotgun start set for 10:30 a.m. CT. Tuesday's pairing will be based off of team standings.
The Course
The 6,934-yard, par-71 Lake Course at The Olympic Club is another of the country's most famous courses. The Olympic Club has hosted five U.S. Opens, with the most recent coming in 2012.
The Lake Course has been recognized by Golf Magazine in its list of the Top 100 Courses in the U.S. and is almost entirely within the borders of San Francisco.
The Field
The 14-team field features two teams that played in last season's NCAA Championships in TCU and UAB. The full field consists of host USF, TCU, UC Davis, St. Mary's, Fresno State, Cal Poly, UAB, San Diego, Santa Clara, Hawaii, Notre Dame, BYU, Loyola Marymount and Dominican.
TCU is the highest ranked team in the field, finishing last season No. 35 in the Golfstat NCAA Team Rankings. UAB (44), St. Mary's (54), UC Davis (74), Cal Poly (81) and Fresno State (93) all finished in the top 100.
Last Time Out
The Frogs played the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach less than two weeks ago. That eight-team field featured four top-10 teams and seven teams that played in the NCAA Championships.
The Frogs finished seventh as a team with a 36-hole score of 3-under-par. Chelso Barrett led TCU with an eighth place finish thanks to a 7-under 209. Turner MacLean finished 11th with a career-best 6-under 210.
