
Watts Set For British Olympic Trials

BIRMINGHAM, England -- Sam Watts will compete for a spot on the Great Britain Olympic Team on Sunday, June 26 at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, England.
Watts will take his mark in the 200-meter dash prelims at the 2016 British Championships at 7:45 a.m. CDT, with the finals set for 10:45 a.m. The 11-time All-American earned second in the event at the Big 12 Championship before participating at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. There, he ran the second leg of the men's 4x100-meter relay, helping the Horned Frogs place sixth with a time of 38.72.
Watts, the 2016 Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, holds a career-best 200 meter time of 20.50.
