FORT WORTH, Texas – Every member of the TCU women's tennis team has returned home for the summer and has been hard a work preparing for the upcoming season and enjoying time with friends and family. Each week, we will take a look at what a different member of the team has been up to and next up is senior Sofiko Kadzhaya.
After suffering an injury during the spring season, Kadzhaya has been hard at work doing treatment on her foot and was not allowed to practice for over two weeks. During that time, she was able to spend time with her family, cook a lot and spend time at the beach, which was only a short walk from her house in Ukraine. Kadzhaya can't wait to return to Fort Worth in July to take summer classes and start preparing for the upcoming season.
TCU returns all but one letterwinner from the 2016 season that saw the Horned Frogs finish in a tie for second in the Big 12 Conference and advance to the second round of the NCAA Championship for the second straight season. Kadzhaya was limited in the spring due to an injury, but posted a 14-5 record in singles during the fall.
