Against Baylor, the duo of Rybakov and Cameron Norrie earned a 6-1 victory in doubles competition. No. 24 Rybakov then went on to top Baylor's Max Tchoutakian (6-2, 6-4) in singles. The Coral Springs, Fla. native also notched a victory over Texas Tech's Hugo Dojas (6-3, 6-2) at the regular season finale in Lubbock, Texas.
Rybakov's effort helped the Horned Frogs acquire a share the 2016 Big 12 Conference regular season title. The TCU tennis team will head to Stillwater, Okla., to compete in the 2016 Big 12 Tennis Championship from April 29-May 1. The Frogs earned a No. 2 seed in the championship and a first round bye with their first match set to take place on Saturday, April 30.
Pena, a freshman from Sharyland, Texas, tied for fifth at the Big 12 Championship. Pena held the individual lead after 36 holes and earned a Big 12 All-Tournament selection with a career-best final score of 215 (73-67-75).
The No. 27 TCU women's golf team received an at-large bid and will make its 20th NCAA postseason appearance in the last 21 years as they begin play May 5 in the Bryan, Texas, Regional at the Traditions Club.
