No. 6 TCU Wins Thriller in Waco

WACO, Texas – Trailing by two with only Horsemanship remaining Friday, No. 6 TCU was able to rally late to shock No. 3 Baylor in thrilling fashion, advancing to the NCEA Final Four off a tiebreaker.
The Horned Frogs, who battled the Bears to an 8-8 draw inside the Extraco Events Center, were able to advance to Saturday's semifinals by defeating Baylor by an overall raw score of 2,363-2,357.5.
TCU improved to 8-8 overall with the win and will take on No. 2 seeded Georgia for the right to play for a National Championship Saturday night. The Horned Frogs advanced to the semifinals Friday for the first time since 2010.
The Rundown
Needing one win to tie the meet at 8-8, junior Rylee Morgan was able to clinch the tie in Horsemanship, riding Sonny to a 150.5-149 victory over Bray Bergstrom. Not to be outdone, freshman Marah Huston and Megan McMullen helped the Frog post a 3-1 victory in the discipline to ultimately overtake the Bears by downing Kaylee Mellott and Abbi Demel, respectively.
In Reining, senior All-American Chantz Stewart upended Elizabeth Shank, 138.5-133.5. Brooke Boyle won the other point for the Frogs, dropping Charlotte Green, 142.5-141.
Competition on Friday started with a 3-1 Baylor lead in Equitation on the Flat. NCEA All-America honoree Molly Peddicord won the lone point for the Purple and White by defeating Jenny Mitchell, 154-138.
In Equitation over Fences, the Horned Frogs battled back to tie the Bears at 2-2 in the event. Peddicord continued her winning ways, dropping Savannah Jenkins, 162-157, while senior Nicole Diamantis topped Brittney Mirkov, 163-150.
