Barjon Finishes Fifth in Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- TCU senior Paul Barjon finished in a tie for fifth as the Frogs concluded play at the 41st annual Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Barjon shot a final round score of 72 and finished even par for the tournament to post his second top five finish and third top 10 finish of the year. He was one of only two golfers in the field to shoot 73 or better in every round of the event.
Barjon now owns nine career top 10 finishes, including his first at the prestigious Southern Highlands Collegiate. Barjon has previously finished outside the top 40 in his two previous appearances at the tournament.
Chelso Barrett shot two under par on Wednesday for his best round of the week and finished tied for 38th in the field. Stefano Mazzoli finished in a tie for 61st while Giulio Castagnara finished T67th and Sarosh Adi tied for 69th place.
The event is regularly ranked as the No. 1 tournament in all of collegiate golf in strength of schedule by Golfweek. The tournament field includes Alabama, Arizona State, California, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, UNLV and USC.
The Frogs placed 14th of 15 teams in the field of all ranks squads but were just 10 strokes behind the eighth place team in the field.
TCU returns to the links at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va., on March 20-22, 2016. The event is one of three tournaments remaining before the Big 12 Conference Championships begin, TCU's first tournament of the year played in the state of Texas. TCU is seeking its 27th consecutive NCAA Regionals appearance this spring.
