Rifle Earns 11 All-American Nods

FORT WORTH – The NRA and the CRCA handed out All-America honors at the conclusion of the NCAA Championships. Five TCU shooters garnered a combined 11 All-America accolades.
The Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association honors athletes based on their aggregate score, while the National Rifle Association recognizes athletes based on their performances in each discipline.
Hannah Black was honored as a CRCA third-team All-American. Black average an aggregate score of 1,173 in 14 matches this season. Her 591 season average in air rifle garnered her first-team All-American accolades, while her 582 smallbore average earned her a spot on the second team.
Junior Sally Li is no stranger to All-American honors, earning nine nominations over the course of her career. She earned CRCA honorable mention honors after posting a season aggregate average of 1,171. She was a first-team All-American in air rifle, averaging a score of 591. Additionally, she was tabbed an honorable mention All-American in smallbore with a season average of 580.
Mindy Miles turned in another solid campaign, earning third-team CRCA All-American honors after posting a 1,173 aggregate average over the course of the season. Additionally, she was named first-team All-American in air rifle with a team-high 594 season average.
In just their first seasons on campus, both Nicole Hankey and Rachel Garner made a mark on the national scene. Hankey was recognized as an honorable mention CRCA All-American after averaging 1,169 per match. She also averaged a 591 in air rifle, earning her a second-team All-American nod from the NRA. Garner boasted TCU's highest smallbore average at 584, earning her first-team All-American recognition from the NRA.
TCU wrapped up a very successful 2015-16 campaign with a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships. Four of the five shooters that traveled the NCAA's return next season.
