The Rundown
TCU battled back twice in the game before emerging with the victory.
West Virginia carried a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth. The lead disappeared as the Frogs struck for a trio of runs on three hits. A one-out error got things going as Dane Steinhagen reached on the miscue. He scored the first run of the game on an Austen Wade double. Cam Warner followed with another double to make it a 3-3 game.
West Virginia responded with a three-spot of its own to regain the three-run cushion in the top of the sixth. The big hit of the frame was a two-run double to center off the bat of Kyle Gray.
In the eighth, TCU sent 11 men to the plate and scored seven times to open up a 10-6 lead. A walk to Luken Baker started the inning. Josh Watson's second double of the night made it a 6-4 game. Elliott Barzilli launched his fourth home run of the season over the left field fence to tie the game at six.
Two walks and a base hit had the bases loaded with one out. Warner drew a five-pitch walk to drive in Ryan Merrill for the Frogs' first lead of the night. Evan Skoug grounded out and Baker singled in two more runs to break the game open.
Sean Wymer (1-0) took over in the seventh and tossed two scoreless innings to pick up his first career victory. Durbin Feltman retired all three batters he faced in the ninth to lock up the victory.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle
"I'm really proud of the way we competed. Obviously, you have to play a full nine innings and this team knows how to do that. I'm the one that has to get used to winning in a different way."
"The pitching and the defense is not the style of baseball that we want to play, but certainly we have an explosive offensive team and that's fun to watch and fun to know you are never to far from a crooked number in an inning."
"At some point, we are going to have to pitch. I thought (Sean) Wymer did a good job of stemming the tide and (Durbin) Feltman was outstanding. But we have to get better on the mound."
