Williams for the week averaged a double-double with 12.5 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per contest in leading TCU an 8-0 record on the season. The Waco, Texas, native posted his second double-double of the season against Washington with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Williams just missed his first career triple-double, tallying a season-high six assists in a dominating 77-54 victory.
His entire stat line versus the Huskies was quite impressive as he also posted a career-high in steals with three. Williams came back to record his second-straight and third double-double of the season with a season-high 15 points and 13 rebounds in a dominating 77-54 win over Arkansas State, who was receiving votes in last week's AP Poll. Even more impressive is that Williams added six offensive rebounds and two blocks in the contest.
TCU will continue non-conference play Wednesday night at SMU. Start time is set for 7:00 p.m. CT inside Moody Coliseum.
Butts, a native of Lewisville, Texas, stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, six rebounds and six assists as the Frogs recorded a 73-47 win over Butler last week. She continued the hot streak into the following game against LSU with 17 points, three rebounds and three assists. In just those two games, the senior averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Butts' 17 points in Baton Rouge were a season high and her most since scoring 17 in the third round of last season's WNIT.
The Frogs return home on Thursday and play their second straight SEC opponent when No. 19 Texas A&M visits Schollmaier Arena. The Frogs and Aggies will tipoff at 7:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised by FS1.
