
TCU Finishes Play in Georgia

ALPHARETTA, Georgia – The TCU men's golf team matched its first-round score with a final-round 300 on Sunday to finish in 15th place at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. The Frogs finished the strong tournament behind 14 teams that are ranked in the nation's top 35.
The tournament was the final of the fall for the Frogs who played a very tough schedule. In fact, it was the nation's 14th toughest entering this weekend's tournament at the Golf Club of Georgia.
On Sunday at the Lakeside Course, Giulio Castagnara posted the Frogs' best round of the day with a 2-over 74. Jeong Weon Ko, TCU's top performer in each of the first two rounds, shot a 78 on Sunday and fell back to 55th place, but was still the Frogs' top finisher.
Round of the Day
Castagnara and the Frogs began their day on the 10th tee box, and the senior posted a 3-over-par score on the back nine. However, he rebounded with eight straight pars on the front nine before a birdie on the par-5 ninth moved him to 2-over for a 74.
Other Notables
- The Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate field is one of the nation's toughest with 12 top-25 teams.
- Stefano Mazzoli and Daniel Gurtner carded TCU's second best rounds of the day as each shot a 3-ver 75.
- Ko eagled the par-5 18th hole for his second eagle of the tournament.
