The Rundown
Both teams traded scoring chances in the first half. A late push by the Bears gave TCU a 4-3 edge in shots after the first 45 minutes of play.
For the Horned Frogs, Kayla Hill had the best two opportunities to get TCU on the board. Her first chance came in the 23rd minute as she found herself alone inside the 18-yard box. Her turnaround shot was blocked away by a charging Baylor defender. That set a course for a trio of corner kicks for the Frogs. Hill eventually had the best look on the third corner, but her shot from the top of the 18 sailed high over the goal.
In the second half, Baylor pushed the tempo and was eventually rewarded in the 61st minute. Padgett made a long run down the sideline and fired a shot on goal. It looked like it would be stopped, but spun away from the keeper and across the goal line for a 1-0 Bears lead.
Ten minutes later, the Bears tacked on another goal to make it 2-0. Baylor's fourth corner kick of the match was the genesis of the goal. The initial chance was cleared away, but Precious Akanyirige found the rebound and fired it home.
TCU didn't go quietly, generating chances late in the game. It capitalized with 30 second to go as Carter knocked home the Michelle Prokof feed to break up the shutout.
Stat of the Game

On the game:
"All credit to Baylor. In the first half, as I told the team, it was a pretty even game. We have to do better. We have to be able to score and create more goal-scoring opportunities. Most importantly, we've got to believe in ourselves."
