Women's Tennis Welcomes MTSU on Friday

FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 22 TCU women's tennis team is looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season by hosting Middle Tennessee State on Friday, Jan. 29 at 4 p.m., at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Horned Frogs (1-1) and the Blue Raiders (2-2) will square off at 4 p.m., on the Bernard J. ‘Tut' Bartzen Varsity Courts with free admission to all fans and free pizza courtesy of Buffalo Bros., in between the doubles and singles portion of the match.
TCU Notables
TCU is coming off a 1-1 showing at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend that included a 4-1 win over No. 42 Houston in the first round before falling to No. 18 Ohio State, 4-0, in the championship match.
The Frogs have one individual ranking with Seda Arantekin and Caroline Wegner checking in at No. 17 in the Oracle/ITA doubles poll. The duo has 11 wins thus far in the season and has one victory over a ranked foe.
In dual matches this season, Arantekin, Wegner and Marie Norris each boast one win on the season. Olaya Garrido-Rivas along with partner Mia King went 1-1 last weekend in doubles action, while Norris and Alexis Pereira were also able to pick up a doubles win.
Scouting the Opponents
Middle Tennessee State started the season 2-0 with wins over Belmont (6-1) and Kennesaw Staet (5-2), but now sit at 2-2 on the season after losing both matches to No. 12 Miami (4-0) and No. 69 Michigan State (4-1) in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
Brittany Huxley leads the Blue Raiders with a 9-3 overall record including a 3-0 mark in dual matches at the No. 2 position. Sarah Sediri has six wins on the season, with a 2-1 record in dual matches.
All-Time Series Records
TCU is facing Middle Tennessee State for the fourth time in program history, with the Frogs perfect in the series at 3-0. The last time the teams met was in 2005, as TCU came away with a 7-0 victory. All matches that have taken place in the series have been played in Fort Worth.
