Baker Grabs Fourth at World University Games

GWANGJU, South Korea – TCU track and field's Ronnie Baker posted a fourth-place finish in the final of the 100-meter dash at the World University Games on Thursday, July 9, in Gwangju, South Korea.
Representing Team USA, Baker was just edged out of a medal by 0.01 seconds after tallying a time of 10.17 in the final to finish fourth.
Competing in his first international meet of his young career, Baker had claimed victories in all three heats leading up to the final, including the semifinal race earlier in the evening. The Louisville, Kentucky, native clocked in at 10.14 seconds less than two hours earlier to win his grouping and advance to the final.
Baker will take the next day off and return to the track on Saturday, July 10, in the first round of the men's 4x100 relay at 5:30 a.m. CDT.
