TCU Finishes Third at Big 12 Championship

TCU shot a 10-over 290 on the fourth and final trip through the course to earn the program's highest finish at the Big 12 Championship. The Horned Frogs finished behind Texas and Texas Tech while placing higher than three top-25 programs.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett led the Horned Frogs on Wednesday with a 1-under 69, tying for the third-lowest round of the afternoon. Barrett rolled in two birdies on a flawless back nine to climb 10 spots for a top-20 finish, his eighth of the season.
Senior Julien Brun carded a 4-over 74 to place 10th overall, marking his third top-10 showing at a Big 12 Championship in three appearances, while fellow senior Andrew Presley closed play with a 75 to join his teammate in 10th place.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara turned in another solid round with a 2-over 72 to finish 16th overall, marking his second such performance of the season, while junior Paul Barjon rounded out the scoring with a 77.
TCU, ranked No. 32 nationally, looks to make its 26th-consecutive postseason appearance after posting a 109-47-2 overall record, including 20 wins over top-25 opponents. The NCAA Regional field will be announced at 9 a.m., CDT on May 4 on the Golf Channel.
