TCU Set to Compete at Big 12 Championship

TULSA, Okla. - The TCU men's golf team begins action at the 2015 Big 12 Championship on Monday at 8 a.m., CDT at Southern Hills Country Club.
The nine programs competing in the championship will play 72 holes at the par-70, 7,151-yard course, beginning with 36 holes on Monday. Southern Hills, the site of four PGA Championships, will host the Big 12 Championship for the third time and the first time since 2006.
TCU opens play as the No. 6 seed and will be paired with No. 5 Oklahoma State for the first two rounds.
The 32nd-ranked Horned Frogs have competed in 10 tournaments during the 2014-15 season, earning six top-five showings, including a tournament victory at the Desert Intercollegiate. TCU has earned a 104-45-2 overall record this season with 17 wins over top-25 opponents.
The Horned Frogs earned a fifth-place finish at last season's Big 12 Championship, as Julien Brun ran away with the individual title, setting a Whispering Pines' 72-hole record with an 11-under 277. The Antibes, France, native, who also finished seventh overall in 2013, finished his record-setting performance with back-to-back rounds of 66.

Claimed the Big 12 Championship individual title in 2014 with an 11-under 277, setting a Whispering Pines course record.

Registered two sub-70 rounds in last action at The Goodwin, including career-low 65 in opening round.
Holds team-best 70.80 stroke average in final rounds this season.
Played in 36 tournaments in three seasons at LSU with seven top-five finishes and two titles.
Named a Second-Team All-SEC and PING All-Southeast Region selection in 2012 and 2013.
Paul Barjon
Finished in second place at the Desert Intercollegiate to help lead TCU to the tournament title.
Ranks third on squad with 72.56 stroke average and has posted 14 rounds of par or better.
Set TCU single-season record with nine eagles last season and currently ranks 12th nationally with five on the year.
Earned second top-10 finish of 2013-14 season with a ninth-place showing at NCAA San Antonio Regional.
Posted back-to-back rounds of 66 to claim first tournament win at Stanford as a freshman while setting school record with 54-hole total of 199.
Giulio Castagnara
Earned two victories in match play event at Red Raider Shootout against two top-20 programs.
Named All-Big 12 Academic First-Team selection.
Has competed in all 10 tournaments, posting a 73.57 stroke average.
Carded career-low 67 in final round in Hawaii.
Registered two sub-70 rounds for top-25 finish The Goodwin.
Posted top-20 finish at Desert Intercollegiate, highlighted by opening-round 71.

Chelso Barrett
Has finished in top 20 in seven of 10 tournaments this season, including three top-10 showings.

Ranked second on the squad as a freshman with 73.76 stroke average.
Earned Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team honors for ninth-place finish as a freshman.
Competed in 10 USGA events prior to beginning his collegiate career, including a runner-up finish to PGA standout Jordan Spieth at the 2011 U.S. Junior Amateur.
