TCU Climbs in Standings at Big 12 Championship

SAN ANTONIO -- Kelly McGovern and Chaney Uhles both carded a 1-over-par 73 to lead TCU into fifth place after Saturday's second round of the Big 12 Championship.
The Horned Frogs shot a 295, lowering their score by one stroke from Friday's opening round. TCU is just one shot behind fourth place Iowa State.
McGovern and Kortnie Maxoutopoulis are both tied for ninth individually at 2-over-par 146. They are seven strokes behind Oklahoma State's Kenzie Neisen, who leads with a 5-under 139.
McGovern, in carding her second straight 73, opened her day with a birdie. After her second birdie, she was 2 under through seven holes. The sophomore from The Woodlands, Texas, shot par on 14 holes.
Maxoutopoulis posted a 74. The senior from Pleasanton, Calif., birdied two of her opening eight holes and was 1 under on the turn.
Uhles, a senior from Fort Worth, birdied three of her final eight holes en route to a 73. She had a team-high four birdies on the day and was under 2 under over the final 10 holes. Uhles is tied for 18th individually.
Alexandra Bonetti shot par on 15 holes en route to a 75 for the Horned Frogs.
With a 3-under 573, Baylor holds the team lead by 10 shots over Texas Tech.
