TCU Earns Split at Red Raider Shootout

The Horned Frogs, ranked No. 32 nationally, opened the day with a 4-1-1 loss to No. 10 Texas Tech before topping No. 20 New Mexico (2-2-2) by virtue of a tiebreaker based on number of holes won.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara secured the lone victory in the opening round against the Red Raiders, going 1-up on the 15th before going ahead once again on the 17th to hold on for the win.
In the afternoon round, junior Paul Barjon (4&3) and Castagnara (3&2) registered wins over the Lobos while sophomore Chelso Barrett and freshman Clayton Crawford both finished all-square.
Barrett was matched against the nation's No. 9 ranked player, Gavin Green, and won two late holes to finish in a tie.
The victory over the 20th-ranked Lobos marked TCU's 18th win over a top-25 program this season.
The Frogs return to action for the 2015 Big 12 Championship on April 27-29 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
