Cody Jones was hit by a pitch to open the game and promptly stole second. With one out, Jones was standing on third for Garrett Crain, who blooped a double into left field to put the Frogs on top. With two outs, Keaton Jones dropped down a bunt that was thrown away by the catcher, allowing Crain to score easily for a 2-0 lead.
Kansas State responded in a big way as it sent 11 men to the plate and scored seven times in the bottom of the first. Max Brown cut the Frogs lead in half with a bases-loaded base hit. A sacrifice fly from Tyler Moore tied the game. Four straight two-out hits and three stolen bases helped Kansas State tack on five more runs for a 7-2 lead.
A lead-off double by Dane Steinhagen in the third helped the Horned Frogs inch closer With two-outs, Connor Wanhanen delivered an RBI single to center to make it a 7-3 game.
The Wildcats added a pair of runs to their lead in the fourth inning. With one out, back-to-back singles had runners on the corners. Brown hit a sacrifice fly and Steve Serratore beat out an infield single to push the lead to six, 9-3.
Another Kansas State run crossed the plate in the sixth as it became the first team to score in double digits against TCU this season. Carter Yagi doubled with one out and scored on a Tyler Wolfe single. A strike `em out, throw `em out double play ended the inning without any further damage.
TCU had chances to get back into the game in the seventh and eighth innings, but managed just one run. In the seventh a two-out base hit and back-to-back walks loaded the bases, but K-State got a pop-up to end the inning. In the eighth, the Frogs settled for a two-out hit from Jeremie Fagnan to make it a 10-4 game, but stranded two more runners.
K-State put the game out of reach with four more runs in the eighth. The big blow was a two-run triple from Brown.
