TCU Opens Play at Southern Highlands

The Horned Frogs, one of 12 teams ranked in the top 30 nationally in the tournament, enter Tuesday's second round just seven strokes out of fifth place. TCU was just 2-over on the back nine to lock in its lowest score in the last five rounds and the second lowest in the last 12 played at the challenging Southern Highlands Golf Club.
Junior Paul Barjon led TCU on day one with an even-par 72 to match sophomore Chelso Barrett for the team lead with 11 rounds of par or better this season. Barjon rolled in four birdies in the round, including the final hole at the par-5 ninth.
Barrett followed with a 1-over 73, posting three birdies in a clean round outside of two double-bogeys.
Senior Julien Brun posted a 2-over 74, answering a rough end to the front nine with a flawless final nine holes, while fellow senior Andrew Presley also turned in a 74.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara rounded out the scoring for the Frogs with a 6-over 78.
