McGovern Tied for Individual Lead at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. -- TCU's Kelly McGovern is tied for the individual lead after an even-par 72, while the Horned Frogs are second after Friday's opening round of the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.
McGovern shot par on 14 holes and had a birdie on the front and back nine. A sophomore from The Woodlands, Texas, McGovern is tied with Oklahoma's Hannah Wood atop the leaderboard.
The Horned Frogs' 12-over 300 has them just three strokes behind host and sixth-ranked LSU for the team lead.
Alexandra Bonetti is tied for seventh after a 74. The Paris, France, native birdied two of her final three holes en route to four birdies.
Fellow TCU senior Kortnie Maxoutopoulis added a 75 and is tied for 12th. She had three birdies in a four-hole stretch on the front nine and totaled four birdies on the day.
Emmy Martin birdied her next-to-last hole in recording a 79.
