Summers Receives Walter Camp National Honor

A quarterback in high school, Summers had the most tackles in a game during the 15-season tenure of TCU head coach Gary Patterson while tying for sixth-best in school history. His final stop was on Baylor's 4th-and-1 rush in the second overtime to end the game and give the Horned Frogs the win.
Summers' 23 tackles, including 1 1/2 for loss, tied for the most in a game by a Big 12 player since statistical records were kept in 2000. He took part in a tackle on 24.2 percent (23-of-95) of Baylor's offensive plays.
A San Antonio native, Summers keyed a TCU defense that held Baylor to a season-low 21 points and their fewest total in a game since 2013. The Horned Frogs also limited the Bears to 62 yards passing, their lowest amount since 2002. Baylor had just 335 yards of offense and was 6-of-22 on third-down conversions.
Summers is the second Horned Frog to be a Walter Camp National Player of the Week this season. Wide receiver Josh Doctson garnered offensive honors after his 18 receptions for 267 yards and three touchdowns in a win at Texas Tech.
