
Trio Set for ITA All-Americans

FORT WORTH, Texas - Three TCU women's tennis players will take part in the pre-qualifying and qualifying rounds of the 2014 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., starting on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The Horned Frog seniors, No. 31 Stefanie Tan and No. 88 Simona Parajova will take part in the singles competition, while Tan will pair up with sophomore Seda Arantekin in the doubles bracket.
Parajova will begin competition for the Horned Frogs by taking part in the pre-qualifying singles bracket. Pre-qualifying rounds comprise of a singles draw of 64 players who must win three rounds to advance to the qualifying draw. The Slovakia native will open with Asiya Dair of Boston College on Saturday and then will face the winner of the match between Rebecca Pedrazzi of Wichita State and Nikol Hristova of Old Dominion.
Tan and Arantekin earned a berth into the qualifying doubles bracket that will begin on Monday, Sept. 29, while Tan also will compete in the qualifying singles bracket. The qualifying rounds are comprised of a singles draw of 64 and a doubles draw of 32 and just as with prequalifying, a singles player or doubles duo must win three consecutive matches to advance into the main draw.
Main draw singles semifinalists, main draw doubles finalists and main draw consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, Nov. 6-9 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.
