FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU swimming & diving team opens the 2014-15 season in an exhibition matchup against North Texas and the University of Texas-Permian Basin in Denton on Friday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m.
It is the second-straight year the Frogs have opened their season with the pentathlon scrimmage.
The UNT pentathlon will consist of five events: 100 fly, 100 back, 100 breast, 100 free and 100IM.
The 2014-15 campaign marks the third season for the Frogs in the Big 12. The men's squad has posted second-place finishes at both years at the conference meet and last season, the women's team tallied a spotless 3-0 record in Big 12 play.
TCU returns 16 seniors from last year's squad, including Cooper Robinson and Lyndsie Gibson, who were named team MVP's last season.
Robinson competed at the NCAA Championships last year in the 100 and 200 backstroke events. He also holds the school records at 46.94 in the 100 and 1:42.33 in the 200 events.
At the Big 12 Championships last season, Gibson helped earn a third place finish in the 400 relay and posted a seventh place time in the 200 backstroke. She also holds the women's school records in the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 54.80 and 1:58.76, respectively.
