TCU head coach Raegan Pebley
On getting a double-digit win
"Well, we will always take games where you feel comfortable throughout the game. Sam Houston is a team that never quits. They sustain effort and turn people over a lot. I was proud of our team just handling the toughness. It's hard to get great practices in during finals week. We just finished finals on Friday and we turned it around and played well with Christmas break the next day. So I think we turned it around really well today."
On Zahna Medley coming back from injury and not starting today
"Yesterday was her first full-contact practice, and it wasn't even a full one. Some of it was letting her see the game a little bit. But you know she is going to play a lot of minutes and contribute. She found [her shot] with rhythm and pace, and I think every shot she takes is going in."
On Caitlin Diaz's performance
"We want her to be a rebounder. We want her to be an asset defensively and we want her to stretch the defense. She has a nice three-point shot. She played really hard, and she communicated well. It was a good step forward for Caitlin, and it was good to see a lot of players contribute today."
TCU guard Zahna Medley
On not starting the game
"I was just glad to be back and be a part of the team. I knew I just had to step up and come off the bench. Not being able to start with my teammates made me want to get out there more and do what I can for them."
On what her performance today means for future games
"It feels really nice for me to have a shooting night like I did. We have conference games coming up and now I have more confidence than I did previously, so being able to hit those shots and wide-open three-pointers was very good today."
On if ball movement was an emphasis for the game
"Yeah it was, and reversing the ball is what we worked on in practice against this team. We did that really well."
