Post-Game Quotes
TCU 81, Washington State 54
Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center
Attendance: 3,509
Senior Guard Kyan Anderson
On how the team rebounded its performance in the opening game
"Anytime you have a game like that with a lot of turnovers you have to cut down on that. It leads to better opportunities on offense. We just had to cut those down and I thought we did a better job tonight."
On adjustments he made offensively for his second game
"I beat myself up after that last game. I just tried to come out here and take what was given to me. Any basket that can help my team, it doesn't matter if it's two or three points, any point matters."
On the bench's role during the first two games
"It's key, especially when you have a bench with depth that can give you solid minutes."
Head Coach Trent Johnson
Opening statement
"I thought we played well. Everybody who had an opportunity to play and was ready to play, played well. Anytime you pass the ball today in terms of having 18 assists and nine turnovers, you like it. That's a good team and they are a little tired from being on the road for four days. I have the utmost respect for Coach (Ernie) Kent. I thought our guys were ready to play and played extremely well. I'm happy for them. It's been a long time coming."
On the team's aggressiveness on both sides of the ball
"I've always focused on that in terms of being aggressive and trying to establish an identity when you are physical with a purpose and don't let anybody dictate how you play this game. That's always the emphasis. The big difference is that we have some guys who have been in the program for three years and others for two years. It's easy to say 'be aggressive,' but when you have people who can do it, it's easier."
On the team's mindset and depth so far
"I think Trey Zeigler said it at media day. In the locker room, they know they can be a good basketball team and can play with some consistency versus good teams. I think we are solid. Versus certain people, we have capabilities to play a lot of guys. That's the way we are right now. We are solid."
