
Three TCU Individuals Conclude Play at ITAs

FORT WORTH, Texas - Three Horned Frogs wrapped up their appearances at the 2014 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif., this past week.
Seniors No. 31 Stefanie Tan and No. 88 Simona Parajova, along with the doubles pair of Tan and Seda Arantekin represented TCU at the event.
Tan appeared in the qualifying singles bracket starting on Tuesday, but fell 6-3, 6-2 to California's Klara Fabikova in the first round. Tan rebounded in the qualifying back draw by notching a win by defeating No. 121 Shannon Hudson of Arkansas, 6-1, 6-1.The Singapore native would end her run by falling 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 to No. 58 Lauren Marker of Arizona later that day.
Tan and Arantekin started the doubles bracket on Tuesday by combining to upset the No. 36 duo of Ree Ree Lee and Madeleine Hamilton of Yale, 6-4, 6-3, in the first qualifying doubles round. The pair would fall in the second round on Wednesday and end their time at the championships by losing to No. 58 Kate Vialle and Ashley Dai of North Carolina, 6-3, 4-6, 10-8.
Parajova saw action in the prequalifying singles bracket on Saturday and lost in the first round 6-1, 7-5 to Boston College's Asiya Dair.
The Horned Frogs will continue fall action by competing on Oct. 3-5 at the Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas at the Hurd Tennis Center.
