Team Notes
*The Horned Frogs have opened with a 5-1 record for the fifth time in the last seven seasons and eighth time in 14 years under head coach Gary Patterson.
*TCU improved to 16-15 against ranked opponents under Patterson.
*TCU posted its largest margin of victory, 33 points, in a Big 12 game in its three years in the conference. The previous best was 28 points, 49-21, at Baylor in 2012. It was Trevone Boykin's first win as a starting quarterback in his second career start.
*The Horned Frogs went 2-1 in their stretch of three consecutive games against top-15 ranked opponents.
*TCU's 676 yards of offense ranks fifth all-time in school history and is the most since the Horned Frogs rolled up 694 at San Diego State on Nov. 24, 2007.
*For the first time in its history, TCU had a 400-yard passer (410, Trevone Boykin), 200-yard receiver (225, Josh Doctson) and 100-yard rusher (102, B.J. Catalon).
*TCU's three first-quarter touchdowns came in a four-play stretch.
*TCU has scored the game's opening 14 points and held a lead of at least 14-0 in each game this season.
*TCU improved to 29-11 in games following a loss under Patterson.
*TCU has opened the season with at least 427 yards of total offense in each contest for the first time in school history. The Horned Frogs had 676 today.
*TCU scored for the 273rd consecutive game. It's the nation's second-longest current streak and sixth all-time in NCAA history. The Horned Frogs haven't been blanked since Nov. 16, 1991 at Texas (32-0).
*TCU has at least one sack and one interception in eight straight games, the longest streak in the nation.
*TCU halted Oklahoma State's 58-game streak of scoring at least 20 points, dating back to the start of the 2010 season.
*TCU limited Oklahoma State to just 258 yards of total offense, marking the fewest yards for the Cowboys since Nov. 28, 2009 against Oklahoma.
*TCU did not score a touchdown on its opening drive for the first time this season.
*TCU's team captains were Trevone Boykin, Sam Carter, Joey Hunt and Davion Pierson.
*TCU wore a white helmet, purple jersey and white pants for the second time this season. The Horned Frogs had the same look in their season opener versus Samford.
Individual Notes
*Trevone Boykin totaled a career-high 451 yards of offense (410 passing, 41 rushing). Boykin completed 26-of-39 passes with three touchdowns.
*Boykin's 410 yards passing rank as the fourth best in school history and the most since Casey Pachall threw for 473 at Boise State in 2011.
*Boykin's 77- and 84-yard touchdown passes to Josh Doctson were TCU's longest plays from scrimmage since a Boykin to Josh Boyce 94-yard scoring pass at West Virginia in 2012. The 84-yard strike tied for the ninth-longest play from scrimmage in school history.
*Doctson had his first career 100-yard receiving game with seven receptions for 225 yards and two touchdowns.
*Doctson's 225 yards receiving marks the second-best single-game total in TCU history. The TCU record is 226 yards by Jimmy Young against Wyoming in 2008.
*B.J. Catalon's 102 yards rushing on just 10 carries gave him his second 100-yard rushing game of the season and his career.
*Catalon's first half touchdown runs of 34 and 35 yards gave him a team-high eight rushing scores this season, surpassing the total (six) from his first two years combined.
*Catalon had his second straight game with two rushing touchdowns. His 35-yard scoring run was on a 4th-and-1.
*Aaron Green had a 4-yard touchdown carry, his second straight game with a scoring run.
*With a team-high 13 tackles, including two for loss, Paul Dawson was in double figures for the fourth time in six games this season and ninth time in the last 13 contests.
*Kevin White posted his second interception of the season. His six career picks rank third among active Horned Frogs.
*Derrick Kindred also snagged his second interception of the season and fourth of his career.
*Defensive end James McFarland made his first career start.
