POSTGAME NOTES
TCU 102, No. 11/11 UNLV 97 (OT)
Fort Worth, Texas (Daniel-Meyer Coliseum)
Feb. 14, 2012
Attendance: 4,710
* TCU improved to 15-10 overall and 5-4 in Mountain West play. TCU moved above .500 in conference play this late in a season for the first time since 2003-04.
* The Frogs extended their home winning streak to seven games, their longest since 2008-09 (nine). The squad has won five consecutive home conference games for the first time since 2000-01.
* The victory snapped a 15-game TCU losing streak against ranked opponents dating back to a 71-66 home win over No. 14 Air Force on Feb. 24, 2007.
* The 11th-ranked Rebels are the highest-rated opponent defeated by TCU since a 71-46 home win over No. 10 Louisville on Feb. 17, 2004.
* Hank Thorns scored a career-high 32 points, breaking his previous high of 22 points set during the Jan. 25 home win over Air Force. The 32 points tied for the third-highest total by a Mountain West player this season.
* Thorns also set a new career-best with eight 3-pointers breaking his previous best of four.
* The eight treys tied for the second-highest single-game total ever by a Horned Frog and were only one shy of Michael Strickland's school record of nine set vs. Arkansas on Feb. 14, 1990. Ryan Caroll (Nov. 11, 1999 vs. Northwestern State), Malcolm Johnson (Jan. 9, 1998 vs. Fresno State) and Michael Strickland (Jan. 20, 1990 vs. Houston) also made eight in a single game.
* The 14 3-pointers tied for the seventh-most in TCU single-game history. The Frogs have hit 14 or more on 14 separate occasions.
* TCU is 2-1 in overtime this season. It posted a 70-68 road win at Evansville on Dec. 3 before falling to Colorado State in double-overtime on Jan. 14, 95-89.
* TCU improved to 12-2 this season in games decided by six points or fewer, an ongoing school record for number of wins by such a margin.
* J.R. Cadot recorded his fourth double-double of the season and the seventh of his career with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
* Amric Fields set a career rebounding high with seven boards.
* TCU outrebounded UNLV by a 19-7 margin in the game's final 16:33 when accounting for the five-minute overtime.
