FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU football program's Academic Progress Rate (APR) score of 972 ranks fourth among the top 25 in the final 2010 BCS standings.
The APR is a term-by-term measure of eligibility and retention for Division I student-athletes that was developed as an early indicator of eventual graduation rates.
In single-year APR average (2009-10), TCU's 997 ranks first in the state of Texas and is tied for second among the 120 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) members.
The Horned Frogs took the field at the Rose Bowl with 17 players having already earned their degree. Earlier this month, an additional 10 players graduated.
All 13 seniors on the 2009 TCU football team graduated. In the 2008-09 academic year, 20 Horned Frog football players received their degree.
In each of the last three seasons, TCU has been cited by the American Football Coaches Association for its high graduation rate. During that time, the Horned Frogs have a combined 36-3 record.
