
TCU Swimming and Diving Announces Spring Signing Class

FORT WORTH - TCU swimming and diving coach Richard Sybesma announced the addition of 13 more athletes to his rosters in the spring signing period for a total of 25 newcomers in the fall and spring.
For the spring, the Horned Frogs signed three men and six women to join his program. Additionally, Sybesma announced two men and three men have made commitments to walk on with the Frogs in the fall of 2011.
"We're really excited about this class," TCU coach Richard Sybesma said. "They are a great fit for us as athletes and they are all great people, which is exactly what we look for in our recruits."
During last fall's signing period, TCU saw six recruits sign national letters of intent on both teams. Sixteen seniors departed the TCU program in the past year, including school-record holders Maria Paula Alvarez and Kyle Callens.
The women's team adds two in the spring with family ties to the Frogs. Gabi Korac, whose older sister Zrinka Korac will be a senior in the fall, transferred to TCU after spending a year at Arkansas. Elizabeth Oster, the younger sister of 100-back TCU record holder Jennifer Oster, will be a freshman at TCU in the fall.
Also highlighting the women's signees is sprinter Lauren Kaufman of Renton, Wash. Kaufman is the No. 6-ranked recruit in the state of Washington and is a three-time state champion in The Evergreen State.
Other scholarship athletes signed in the spring on the women's side are Ali Bleasdell and Van-Anh Hoang, who were teammates at the Houston Swim Club. Walking on for TCU are Ashley Alspaugh, Courtney Cheek and Carmen Lindmoen.
On the men's side, distance specialist Thor Stenfjord is the No. 12 recruit in the state of Washington. Joining the Frogs as a second-semester sophomore is Luiz Azarias from Brazil. Azarias won two Brazilian junior national championships in 2009.
Curtis Muller will be the second scholarship diver on the roster for TCU. Walk-ons in the fall are Josh Mangus and Mancer Roberts.
Ariel Bond, Kyra Lindholm, Lauren Mikulecky, Kenzie Miller, Mackenzie Schuler and Victoria Thicke-Rattray signed NLIs with the TCU women in the fall period. On the men's side, Mitchell Adshead, Ricky Bradley, Ryan Hall, Matt Korman, Cooper Robinson and August Van Allen signed with the Frogs in the fall.
