POSTGAME NOTES
#9 TCU 70, #8 Wyoming 61
Las Vegas, Nev. (Thomas & Mack Center)
March 9, 2011
- TCU snapped a 13-game losing streak, the longest in-season skid for the Frogs since the squad dropped the final 21 games of the 1976-77 season.
- The Frogs also snapped an 11-game losing streak in games played away from Fort Worth dating back to the Dec. 8 win at Texas Tech.
- The victory ended a three-game TCU losing streak in MWC tournament first-round games. The squad's last victory was against New Mexico (62-54) in the 2006-07 tourney.
- The Frogs improved to 11-2 this season when scoring 70 or more points.
- TCU shot 48.3 percent from the floor, its highest rate since the Feb. 9 home loss to UNLV, a stretch of seven games.
- The Frogs shot 50.0 percent or better from 3-point range for the sixth time this season and the first time since the Dec. 28 home win over Chicago State.
- Greg Hill scored 18 points, his second straight contest with as many following a 23-point performance March 2 at Air Force. Hill sank four 3-pointers and has made 10 over the last two outings.
- Hank Thorns moved into sole possession of second place on the MWC's single-season assists chart. He now has 219 on the season and needs only seven more to move into a tie for second place on TCU's single-season list with former Frog Prince Fowler, who had 226 in 1998-99.
- Thorns played all 40 minutes for the seventh time in the last 10 games.
- J.R. Cadot recorded his third doule-double this season, and ninth overall for TCU, by totaling 13 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
- Cadot scored in double figures for the sixth time in the last seven games. Prior to the current stretch, he had not reached double digits in 11 consecutive contests.
- Nikola Cerina just missed his second career double-double, recording nine points and 10 rebounds. It marked the fourth straight game he pulled down at least eight boards.
