FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU interim Western head coach Kindel Huffman announced the signing of Erin Gillette to a National Letter of Intent this week.
"I am very excited to have Erin Gillette join our program," said Huffman. "She has a tremendous amount of talent and experience in the show pen. She is a rider who knows how to put everything on the line and win. She will be a huge asset to our team in both Reining and Horsemanship."
Gillette, a four-time Congress Champion and two-time Reserve Congress Champion, hails from Palos Verdes, Calif. She will compete for TCU next fall after earning the 2011 Congress Championship in Horsemanship, as well as placing seventh overall in Western riding at the Youth World Show. Gillette also finished eighth overall in Horsemanship, to go along with her 10th-place showing in Trail at the World Show. She will graduate from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School this spring and has also excelled on the soccer pitch in California, playing club soccer for over 13 years.
The Horned Frogs will next be in action on Feb. 3 against Texas A&M at the Fort Worth Stock Show.
