POSTGAME QUOTES
Utah 75, TCU 62
Fort Worth, Texas (Daniel-Meyer Coliseum)
Jan. 22, 2011
Attendance: 4,190
TCU HEAD COACH Jim Christian
On TCU's first-half defensive effort:
"Whether its individual effort or getting beat one-on-one, wet let them shoot 62 percent (in the first half). We have to come together to help guard them, as a group."
On overcoming Utah's hot first half shooting:
"If you let (a loss) get to you and effect you, then you are not a competitor. You should have the resiliency to fight, especially in a game you think you can win and especially at home. If that is the case then there is nothing we can do. You have to have the courage to be resilient and overcome adversity."
On the rest of the season:
"We have talent, and we are getting better. But we have some guys that need to do some soul searching as to how bad they want to do this and how bad they want this team to come together. We have tried a lot of different things to get them to come together and play with the toughness that we want. They have to make that commitment to do that themselves, but we will keep working hard to get better."
TCU JUNIOR GUARD Ronnie Moss
On frustration created from the loss:
"We have a team that we feel can compete with anybody. And then we come out and can't get the win. We just have to keep fighting."
On TCU's defensive struggles:
"Honestly, I couldn't tell you. It is just something we have to figure out. I know we are running out of games, but Coach (Christian) keeps preaching defense to us. And when the other team comes in and shoots 60 percent (in the first half), that's disappointing.
